Zazwyczaj na długie weekendy zostajemy w Warszawie. Najczęściej bowiem gwarantują nam one maksymalnie jeden dodatkowy dzień wolnego, za to tłumy w miejscowościach turystycznych, korki na drogach, brak miejsc noclegowych. Nie nastawiamy się więc nigdy na żadne wyjazdy, no chyba, że nagle i niespodziewanie trafi się super okazja. I tak też się stało kilka lat temu, gdy Ryanair wprowadził do swojej oferty nowy kierunek i zaserwował z okazji premiery bardzo dobre ceny biletów. Modlin otworzył się na Alicante, a my, nie wiedząc nawet co ma nam do zaoferowania to portowe miasto z południowo-wschodniej Hiszpanii, bez chwili namysłu kupiliśmy bilety.
Wylądowaliśmy późnym wieczorem i po szybkim rozpakowaniu się w naszym skromnym lokum poszliśmy na plażę. (link do Sebastianowej recenzji znajdziecie tutaj ). Po drodze minęliśmy wysadzoną palmami, nadmorską ulicę, będącą typowym kurortowym deptakiem, jaki można spotkać na całym świecie od Kołobrzegu po Ipanemę, czyli Explanada de España, znaną również jako Paseo de la Explanada. Wstąpiliśmy również na szybkie zakupy do pobliskiego Kerfura, celem zgromadzenia wiktuałów na romantyczną kolację. Wstępny rekonesans pozwolił ustalić, że to będzie naprawdę fajna majówka.
Leżące na Costa Blanca Alicante jest z jednej strony centrum letniego wypoczynku turystów różnych narodowości, oferując im piękne plaże oraz urokliwe zaułki hiszpańskich uliczek. Z drugiej zaś stanowi idealną bazę wypadową do pobliskich miast takich jak chociażby Walencja czy Murcia.
Ponieważ cała nasza wycieczka trwała raptem cztery dni, a my byliśmy bardzo zmęczeni różnymi sprawami z ówczesnego życia codziennego, postanowiliśmy skupić się na relaksie. Słonecznych kąpieli zażywaliśmy na Playa del Postiguet, która mimo iż miejska, zadziwiała naprawdę czystym piaskiem. Lenistwo nie wypuściło nas ze swoich szpon i nie ruszyliśmy poza jej piaski, a szkoda, bo podobno położona nieopodal i ukochana przez mieszkańców Madrytu San Juan de Alicante (do której można dojechać tramwajem miejskim FGV) jest naprawdę wyjątkowa.
Gdy zwodnicze słońce zbytnio przypiekało, chodziliśmy na spacery. Architektura miasta łączy w sobie typowe dla wielu hiszpańskich kurortów zabudowania lat ’70 i ’80 (na szczęście niezbyt wysokie i nie zdominowane przez paździerzowe “ozdoby” w stylu Lloret del Mar) z urokliwymi zaułkami wąskich uliczek. W których naprawdę warto się zagubić, by odnaleźć na chwilę w mini knajpce serwującej obłędne tapasy. Jedząc krokiety z dorsza i popijając je domowym winem, można zapomnieć o całym świecie. A na pewno o jego problemach. Jednym z takich magicznych miejsc jest znajdująca się na Calle Pedro Sebastia La Taberna Iberica, do odwiedzenia której zachęcił nas pan łudząco przypominający Don Kichota ( http://www.tabernaiberica.com/2.html).
Spacerując po mieście można dotrzeć na przykład do La Rambli, czyli ulicy z sklepami, galeriami handlowymi i bankami, do Parque del Canalejas lub de El Palmeral, do starej dzielnicy Bario de Cruz…Mogłabym wymieniać i wymieniać, jest naprawdę wiele możliwości na niespieszną włóczęgę.
Nam się jednak zdecydowanie najbardziej podobała “spacerowspinaczka” na Zamek Świętej Barbary, czyli zabytkową warownię, położoną na górze Benacantil, z której podziwiać można fantastyczną panoramę miasta. Castillo de Santa Barbara widać najlepiej z Playa del Postiguet i nie można jej z niczym pomylić – bok góry wygląda jak profil twarzy wojownika mauretańskiego (z czym oczywiście związana jest lokalna legenda).
Na sam szczyt można wjechać specjalną windą, my jednak skorzystaliśmy z opcji wspinaczki szerokim chodnikiem. Zapewnia ona ciekawe widoki, a jednocześnie pozwala spalić zbędne kalorie nachapane w licznych tapas barach dnia poprzedniego.
Teren castillo otoczony jest przez park drzew oliwnych de la Ereta, na szczycie zaś, oprócz napawania się panoramą miasta i bliskimi spotkaniami z dziką fauną (proszę się nie martwić, mieliśmy teleobiektyw, ptaki nawet nie przypuszczały, że są obserwowane), można poczuć się prawdziwym rycerzem na zamku i powygłupiać (co uważam za zdecydowanie najlepszą formę spędzania wolnego czasu).
Jeśli więc szukacie idealnego miejsca na szybki, relatywnie bliski i tani, gwarantujący ładną pogodę wypoczynek – zdecydowanie polecamy Alicante. Można wygrzać kości na miękkim piasku, można najeść się pysznych przekąsek wyłowionych o poranku z wesoło chlapiącego morza lub po prostu powłóczyć się po tajemniczych uliczkach, aby wieczorem sfinalizować wycieczki lampką sangrii z widokiem na zachodzące za falami słońce.
