Gdy byłam kilka lat temu na Cyprze marzyła mi się wycieczka w stronę słonego jeziora pod Larnaką, w którym stacjonują flamingi. Niestety ze względu na lewostronny ruch na wyspie vs ogromne braki w moich umiejętnościach prowadzenia samochodu, musiałyśmy z Mamą zrezygnować z tej atrakcji – łatwiej nam byłoby dojechać hulajnogą z Warszawy do Helsinek niż z Limassol nad wyśniony zbiornik.
Marzenia jednak nie odeszły w niebyt, dlatego gdy przeczytałam, że na Jukatanie stada flamingów można oglądać w kilku miejscach, byłam wniebowzięta. Ze względu na odległość skonfrontowaną z brakiem czasu musieliśmy zrezygnować z zachwalanego na forach internetowych Celestun.
Postanowiliśmy więc zaciągnąć języka u lokalsów. Wszyscy, jak jeden mąż, polecali nam park rozrywki Xcartet, czyli położony niedaleko Playa del Carmen przyrodniczo – kulturowy majański Disneyland. Oprócz różnego rodzaju ptaków i egzotycznych ssaków, w czasie całodniowego zwiedzania jest się widzem wielu pokazów, można sobie zrobić zdjęcie z papugą i w stroju regionalnym. Obejrzeliśmy ich zjawiskową stronę w Internecie i…niemalże natychmiast uznaliśmy, że to nie dla nas. I nie chodzi nawet o to, że już wyjściowo bardzo drogie bilety zawierają w sobie mnóstwo ukrytych kosztów (każda, co ciekawsza, atrakcja jest dodatkowo płatna, np. pływanie w tzw. Sekretnej Rzece), że turystów na metr kwadratowy jest więcej niż fanów na koncercie The Rolling Stones, że od ilości bodźców wszelakich można dostać oczopląsu. To jest po prostu paskudnie sztuczne. I smutne. I zupełnie bez sensu w okolicy tak bujnej w egzotyczną faunę i florę. Ma co prawda dwa plusy- bezrefleksyjni turyści nie niszczą naturalnego piękna tylko całą energię zostawiają w stworzonych przez człowieka ramach. No i jest dość blisko, zarówno z Playa jak i Cancun, a jak wiadomo względy ekonomiki czasowej nierzadko mają kluczowe znaczenie.
Niezrażona powyższym postanowiłam szukać dalej. Za wszelką cenę chciałam ujrzeć w naturalnym środowisku swoje ukochane flamingi, o których Tata opowiedział mi podczas naszej wspólnej, pierwszej wizyty w warszawskim ZOO, jakieś 27 lat temu…Na szczęście całkiem szybko Sebastian, urodzony reseacher, wygooglował informację na temat rezerwatu biosfery w Rio Lagartos. Co więcej okazało się, że wycieczka doń jest w ofercie lokalnych biur podróży. Już myślałam, że jesteśmy uratowani…
I tu zaczęły się schody. Ze względu na całkowity brak popytu nikt nie chciał z nami jechać. Oczywiście na wstępie odstrasza cena – 140 dolców od osoby to naprawdę dużo. Zaczęliśmy pertraktować w kwestii prywatnego tripu z jednym facetem – zbiliśmy cenę do 119 $ od osoby. Nadal sporo. Postanowiliśmy więc zorganizować się we własnym zakresie. Nie mieliśmy absolutnie żadnej pewności, że się uda, plus dodatkowo ostrzegano nas przed niebezpieczeństwem samodzielnego zapuszczania się w głąb lądu. Uznaliśmy jednak, że “no risk no fun” i zamówiliśmy sobie samochód na następny dzień o świcie (nie pamiętamy ceny, ale chyba było to 35 $ plus benzyna, przy czym można wytargować jeszcze lepiej).
Zależało nam, żeby wyjechać jak najwcześniej, ponieważ podróż w jedną stronę z Playa zajmuje ponad 3 godziny (trasa 250 km no i stawanie na zdjęcia np. przy małym, wiejskim cmentarzu).
Oczywiście Pan z wypożyczalni spóźnił się 30 minut i z uśmiechem na twarzy ignorował nasze pełne pretensji uwagi tak uparcie, aż nam złość przeszła zupełnie. Nie wiem co oni w sobie mają, ale ja Meksykanów pokochałam od pierwszego wejrzenia .
Po drodze napotkaliśmy na samych uroczych ludzi. Wszyscy się do nas uśmiechali, machali, gdy robiłam zdjęcia z pędzącego samochodu i ratowali dobrymi radami.
Ze względu na bardzo napięty grafik po drodze zatrzymywaliśmy się naprawdę sporadycznie, dosłownie na szybkie foty. Np. przed kościołem Trzech Króli w Tiziminie. Mało tam zwiedzających, więc wszyscy przyglądali się nam z ciekawością, ale uprzejmą (pan parkingowy za krótki postój zażyczył sobie jedynie uśmiech dostał więc stosowną propinę). Gdziekolwiek nie zerknęliśmy wszędzie uderzało nas jedno – totalny spokój, taki zdrowy “tumiwisizm”. Korek? Trudno, widocznie tak ma być, trąbienie zupełnie nie pomoże. Brak klientów? Zaraz pewno przyjdą, w tym czasie pogram na komórce. Pasy bezpieczeństwa? Mój pojazd takowych nie posiada, wiec będę jechał wolno…
Gdy wreszcie dotarliśmy do celu już od bramy wjazdowej do miasta witali nas miejscowi rybacy i intensywnie przekonywali, że zwiedzanie parku to tylko z nimi. I mimo, że byli naprawdę jowialni i biła od nich uczciwość, zdecydowaliśmy się skorzystać z usług tamtejszego “potentata” – znajdującego się przy samym porcie Rio Lagartos Adventures Ecotures (http://www.riolagartosaaventuras.com/). Poza nami nie było nikogo, a jak nam wytłumaczyła łamanym angielskim obsługa łódki mieli jedynie ośmioosobowe. Nie zdradzając na forum tajników naszych umiejętności negocjacyjnych napiszę tylko, że ostatecznie wypłynęliśmy we dwójkę i to jeszcze po bardzo zaniżonej cenie. Trudno było się jednak nie zdecydować, gdy na wstępie naszym oczom ukazał się taki oto widok:
Przewodnikiem tej kameralnie ekskluzywnej wycieczki po rezerwacie biosfery był młody Meksykanin, słabo mówiący w języku Szekspira, za to tak życzliwy i spostrzegawczy, że najchętniej byśmy go zaadoptowali.
Już od początku zatem wiedzieliśmy, że będzie epicko. I nie pomyliliśmy się ani trochę, bo po niespełna 10 minutach od odcumowania łódki ujrzeliśmy one and the only- los flamingos
Stopień podróżniczej ekstazy osiągnął zenit, a okazało się, że to dopiero początek. Rezerwat zamieszkany jest bowiem przez wiele gatunków zwierząt, które można było obserwować na wyciągnięcie ręki. Nasz cudowny kapitan bezbłędnie wyczytywał z mimiki który gatunek chcemy w danym momencie sfotografować, zachowując przy tym dystans na tyle duży, by nie stresować barwnych przedstawicieli fauny w ich rodzimym środowisku.
Oprócz zwierząt w rezerwacie można spotkać też naturalnie występujących kłusowników. Niestety oni akurat zdecydowanie mniej chętnie pozują do zdjęć. Ale nie są niebezpieczni. W odróżnieniu od aligatorów, których nie wiedzieć czemu boje się niesamowicie, a które również napotkaliśmy podczas wycieczki.
U pierwszego zmyliły nas otwarte oczy- gadzisko spało w najlepsze, dlatego nasz przewodnik postanowił go obudzić rzucając w niego kawałkami patyków, bułką, a nawet zszedł na chwilę z łódki i chwycił bestię za ogon. Bezskutecznie.
Chwilę później szczęście się jednak do Sebastiana uśmiechnęło (a ja miałam stan przedzawałowy ze stresu), bo do samej łódki podpłynęło gigantyczne bydle i towarzyszyło nam w podróży przez kilka minut (na mrożący krew w żyłach filmik zapraszamy nasz kanał YouTube :))
Widząc, że jestem zielona ze stresu kapitan uznał, że czas najwyższy na relaks i mały zabieg SPA, dlatego przycumował nieopodal zbiornika o zasoleniu podobnym do tego z Morza Martwego i zorganizował nam rytuał upiększający. Użyta w tym celu glinka wyjątkowo nie śmierdziała zgniłym jajem i całkiem łatwo się zmywała.
Po popołudniowym powrocie do portu właściciele biura namawiali nas jeszcze na obiad, ale ze względu na 3 godziny drogi przed nami grzecznie odmówiliśmy.
To było jedno z fajniejszych doświadczeń w naszym życiu. Utwierdziło nas jednocześnie w przekonaniu, że prawdziwe piękno zaczyna się tam, gdzie kończą ścieżki wydeptane przez amerykańskich turystów. Polecamy bezwzględnie.
